CALL FOR ARTICLES + COVER DESIGN COMPETITION
Dearest readers,
Now is the time to put down the drill and pick up a pen (or your iPad...), because we're opening the call for submissions!
This year we're going triannual; our first issue will be released in January, so we're asking you to send in your submissions throughout this term. There are a range of ways you can contribute to the magazine:
1) Articles - whether you want to report on dental news, share your experience of a recent event, or you have opinions on something so strong that you feel you might explode, get it down in writing and send it to us for a chance to be published in our magazine. We're happy to read through anything that you want to write about, but if you're stuck for ideas and you'd like some tips on possible topics, drop us an email and one of our editors will get back to you.
2) Cover design - we're holding a competition open to all dental students to design the image that will go on our front cover! This can be a drawing, painting or photograph of something/someone related to dentistry. Please include a short paragraph on what your design shows and why you chose it.
3) Confessions of a student dentist - everyone has those moments that we'd like to forget, those situations that sometimes give us flashbacks that make us cringe; but don't bottle them up! We'd love to hear your stories, and who knows, there are probably other students out there who have done the exact same thing. Of course you can send them to us anonymously!
4) Overheard / Spotted @ Guy's - share with us anything funny or weird that you've heard or seen around Guy's. Those lifts are a gold mine.
5) Agony aunt - if you have any worries or questions about work, clinics, life in the Dental Institute, (or what do to about that crush you have on your clinical partner), feel free to send us your concerns and we'll do our best to help! Our team has a wealth of experience between us, but if we can't give you a good answer then we'll find someone who can.
For your submission to be considered for publication in our first issue, please send it to us by Sunday 8th November. Anything that isn't put in the magazine can still be published on our website.
